I'm Back- Sorry for Being Gone

Sorry for not posting in a long time. I didn't realize I completely missed November and December, I was posting updates on Alyssa Nicole on my other blog that is devoted only to her.

Anyway, she has arrived. She will be 7 weeks on Friday (born November 16) and she's wonderful!




I never had a maternity leave, since I've been working a lot, but I have also taken some much needed time to be with her.

In the future, I'll be posting updates about her on the other blog, but I'll also post milestones on this one for my loyal readers.

BabyHarris Update

BabyHarris is doing very well. She is 26 weeks and kicking A LOT! At my appointment last week, I had gained 19 pounds (YIKES!), and my blood pressure was 98/42. Yes, I said 42. I asked if that was too low. The Doc said that as long as I'm walking, talking, eating, and breathing, that I'm good to go!

I was sent home with juice to take next week for my glucose test which is done between 24-28 weeks.

Things are coming along. She has a room, but no furniture yet...


No more mustard yellow, and now we've got lavendar! Isn't it pretty with all the white trim around the doors and plantation shutters?

The bathroom is a work in progress and I'll post when that is complete, which should be any day now.

BabyHarris Update

I had my 16 week appointment this morning. Everything is fine!! All those dreams I've been having are meaningless now. The heartrate was down to 154 from 160 at last month's appt. More of my pants are getting tighter, so I'll probably be in maternity clothes full time in the next couple of weeks.

They took blood for the Quad Test today. I have rolly vains, so they actually had to try both arms to get blood. I bruise easily so I'm definitely going to look like a junkie in a couple of hours.

I will go back for a full Sonogram to find out the sex of the baby on my Birthday, July 11. I figured it would be a very nice birthday present!!

Things are moving along very well, but very slowly!!!

Where Have I Been?

Well, I would like to apologize for my disappearance over the past few weeks. I've had a lot going on, and I ran into a snag. The snag being exhaustion!!


I knew people would get tired while pregnant, but I never thought it would effect me the way it did. I'm a very active person, and I was left on a couch barely moving for almost 2 weeks. It took every bit of energy I had just to do the work I was doing. Every couple of hours, I would have to sit and rest for a few minutes and close my eyes. I was never able to actually take naps, but just closing the eyes helped a lot.

The picture above was from this morning at 11 weeks 5 days. We told the family yesterday for Mother's Day, and I'm now telling the world!!

Bottom line, I've got some energy back, and I'll definitely commit to making the effort to keeping my blog more up to date!!

We're looking at an end of November date, 11/26-11/29. My bet is eating some awesome lemon meringue pie at Thanksgiving and rushing off to the hospital!!
